Central Arkansas Chamber Winds is made up of active performing musicians from the Central Arkansas area. Performers are Carolyn Brown, flute; Lorraine Duso, oboe; Kelly Johnson, clarinet;, Louann Dooly, bassoon; Jackie Lamar, saxophone; Larry Jones and Van Lamar, trumpets; Brent Shires, horn; Todd Johnson, trombone and Jeffery Jarvis, tuba. Professors Brown, Duso, Kelly Johnson, Jackie Lamar, Jones, Shires and Jarvis are on faculty at the University of Central Arkansas. Todd Johnson teaches in the Conway Public Schools, Louann Dooly teaches at University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, and Van Lamar is with the Arkansas Office of the Courts. Jackie Lamar and Jeffrey Jarvis will be featured soloists on the Hartley Double Concerto for saxophone and tuba. Conducting the ensemble will be saxophonist Brent Bristow, Director of the Department of Music at Arkansas State University at Beebe.

Double Concerto for Alto Saxophone, Tuba and Wind Octet - Walter S. Hartley

Double Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Tuba by Walter Hartley was completed in 1969. There are three movements, fast-slow-fast, the solo tuba and the alto saxophone act as integral members of the woodwind-ensemble.

Highland Spirits by Charles L. Booker, Jr. is based on the composer's impressions of the Scottish Highlands. Movement one captures the spirit of the mysterious Orkney Islands. The River Livet or "smooth-flowing one" for movement two and movement three, Loch Lomond is the largest loch (lake) in the United Kingdom.
