Cross Town Trio

Cross Town Trio was formed in 2000 in response to a call for chamber music participation for the World Saxophone Congress in Montreal, Canada. The group takes its name from the fact that the members teach at colleges that are located "across town" from each other. Members are Jackie Lamar, saxophone, Karen Griebling, viola, and John Krebs, piano. The trio is based in Conway, Arkansas, USA, known as the "City of Colleges". The Cross Town Trio has performed internationally in Iceland, Slovenia, Thailand, and Canada as well as across the United States. Listed on the Arkansas Arts Council's Arts On Tour, support for Cross Town Trio Arkansas performances to eligible presenters is available. Recently released on Centaur Records is Music for the Cross Town Trio, available at www.centaurrecords.com. The Cross Town Trio is a member of Chamber Music America.

Ludington Woods - Dominic Dousa

Dominic Dousa joined the faculty of the University of Texas at El Paso in 2004. Ludington Woods is inspired by the Michigan State Park of the same name. Many of the melodies are folk-like, reflecting the enjoyment of nature. "Spirited" is the first movement which is composed in Sonata form.

Short programme notes (max. 50 words per work): Suite 86 was composed in 1986 for saxophonist Max Jézouin, violist Gérard Delage, and pianist Christian Fage from the Conservatoire d'Angoulême. Henri-Pierre Juguet currently teaches recorder and early music at the Conservatories of Niort and Thouars, both located in Deux-Sevres.

Habanera - Stephen T. Griebling

Stephen T. Griebling began writing music at age 17 and a full recital of his compositions was performed just before he graduated with a degree in chemistry in 1954. His compositions have been performed throughout the USA and Europe. Habanera was composed for the Cross Town Trio in 2011.
