Saxophonist Dana Booher, a native of Costa Mesa, California, has won top prizes at competitions across the United States including the Grand Prize at the Carmel Music Society Competition,1st Prize at the Indiana University Travel Grant Competition, 1st Prize at the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle Competition, and 3rd Prize at the North American Saxophone Alliance Competition. Dana has given solo recitals in various venues across the United States including the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and the Sunset Center in Carmel, CA. He is the baritone saxophonist of the Zzyzx Quartet.

Dana currently plays with the United States Navy Band of Washington, DC, a position he has held since August 2011. Prior to joining the Navy Band Booher served as Associate Instructor of Saxophone at Indiana University, Adjunct Instructor of Woodwinds at Vincennes University, and Saxophone Instructor at the Wildwood Institute of Music and the Arts.

Booher graduated with Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University as a student of Dr. Otis Murphy. He is a recipient of the Indiana University Performer's Certificate, the highest honour that can be awarded at the institution.

Sarasax (Suite in 5 Sätzen) - Theodor Köhler

Theodor Köhler was born in Cape Town, South Africa 1974. He studied composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main in Germany. He currently lives in Frankfurt as a composer, editor and teacher. Sarasax, composed in 1998, is a suite for solo baritone saxophone in five movements.

We Speak Etruscan - Lee Hyla

American composer Lee Hyla was born in Niagara Falls, New York, in 1952. A prolific composer, Hyla is the Wyatt Chair of Music Composition at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. We Speak Etruscan, composed in 1992, is a work for bass clarinet and baritone saxophone that is dedicated to saxophonist Tim Berne, bass clarinetist Tim Smith and tour guide/Etruscan enthusiast Norm Roberson. The work is highly energetic, displaying extended techniques on both instruments.
