Duo Bombarde
 from UK Duo Bombarde was formed in 2006 at the Royal College of Music in London. Hannah and Rachel have performed as a duo throughout the South East, including Wymondham Abbey, Norfolk and Brentwood Cathedral, Essex. Rachel Parry-Ridout is a 1st class honours graduate of the Royal College of Music and has just completed an MA at the Royal Academy of Music. As both a soloist and ensemble member, she has performed at many well-known venues across the country and abroad and recently won first prize in the RCM Jane Melber Saxophone Competition. Hannah graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2010 winning the Harold Darke Prize for Organ and gained her Masters degree at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is Assistant Musical Director of Fulham Camerata and Assistant Organist and Director of the Youth Choir at St. Leonard's, Streatham. Hannah has given recitals through London and beyond and has also played on BBC Radio 4. |

"Composed in 2010, SUITE FOR SOPRANO SAXOPHONE AND ORGAN is both absolute and programmatic. Absolute because it musically stands on its own, and programmatic because each movement is thematically inspired by folk poetry of Black America. The opening of this virtuosic piece is characterised by its fast repeated semi-quaver pattern and gradually builds in harmonic complexity. The second movement is centered around scalic passage work whilst the final movement returns to the vigour of the first. This arrangement makes full use of the versatility of the soprano saxophone as a solo instrument. |
