Nishi Asakusa - François Rossé

Nishi Asakusa is a direct reference to a Japanese ritual that took place at the Senji-ji Temple in Tokyo. The ritual used large percussion drums, taiko, accompanied by low voices singing with great energy in an accentuated rhythmic style.

Die Berliner Hornisse - Robert Carl

Die Berliner Hornisse (The Berlin Hornet) is a diptych inspired by insect energy. The first movement is a series of non-linear sonic snapshots, slight "buzzings", suggesting strange activities. The second movement is focused, directed, fast and frenetic. Its virtuosity echoes two musical ghosts: Coltrane and Paganinni.
