This exceptional group, with many acoustic possibilities can play a range of genres and styles, from the sounds of small chamber formations to the grandeur of a symphonic orchestra. Every concert they perform is always met with success.

From the beginning, they wanted to expand the repertoire, and did so by not only performing transcriptions but also new pieces from living composers. In 1991 at their inception, they performed the world premiere of Karlheinz Stockhausen's “Linker Augentanz” under his direction. This piece included percussion and synthesizer. As it was a great success, the piece was performed again in “Ars Musica Festival” in Bruxelles.

Several composers have been interested in this original saxophone group: Luciano Berio, Thierry Escaich, Bruno Mantovani, Ton That Tiêt, etc. The ensemble has performed in the World Saxophone Congress in Pesaro (1992) de Valencia (1997) Montréal (2000) Ljubljana (2006) and Bangkok (2009).

In 1994, the ensemble played “Akaïtz” by Félix Ibarrondo (French Radio command) live on the french radio station “France Musique”.

More recently, the ensemble has played in Paris as well as in Mulhouse, Strasbourg, Limoges, Montpellier, Troyes, Poitiers, Nancy where it has always been met with great success. They played “Le chant sacré” by Hector Berlioz during events in 2003 dedicated to him, as well as in Bachsaal in Amsterdam. In 2004, they performed “Recit” by Luciano Berio before two concerts of the Paris Orchestra.

The success of this ensemble is due to its originality, extraordinary sound colours, and its extremely precise musical director Christophe Bois.

Syrinx - Claude Debussy

Dedicated to the flautist Louis Fleury, the piece was written as incidental music to the uncompleted play Psyché by Gabriel Mourey. It was originally called Flûte de Pan. Since one of Debussy's Chansons de Bilitis had already been given that title, however, it was given its final name in reference to the myth of the amorous pursuit of the nymph Syrinx by the god Pan.

String Quartet in G minor, Opus 10 - Claude Debussy

In 1893, Debussy composed his first important work, the String Quartet in G minor, Op. 10. Debussy expanded the sound of the string quartet with a variety of novel textures and tonal effects ranging from delicate subtlety to ravishing grandeur. With exotic scales, unconventional chords, progressions and key changes, the music features melodies and harmonies unique for their time.
