h2 quartet
from USA The award-winning h2 quartet has been wowing audiences since 2002. This all-saxophone ensemble has performed throughout the United States, in Europe, and in Asia, in venues from Los Angeles' Walt Disney Hall to the Times Center in New York City. The h2 quartet is featured on five commercially available discs as well as on a PBS television episode of Backstage Pass. h2 is dedicated to commissioning and performing new works. The h2 quartet enjoys the opportunity to work with composers and has premiered new works by Murray Gross, John Mackey, Victor Marquez-Barrios, Marc Mellits, Roger Petersen, Jesse Ronneau, Matthew Schoendorff, Amy Williams, and many others. The h2 quartet has been First Prize Gold Medal winner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, First Prize winner at the North American Saxophone Alliance Saxophone Quartet Competition, twice First Place winner at the Music Teacher's National Association Chamber Music Competition Ð Michigan, winner at the Michigan State University Concerto Competition, and First Place winner at the Northwestern University Chamber Music Competition. |
Untitled - Drew BakerDrew Baker is a Chicago-based composer and pianist. Baker's compositions have been performed by The Talea Ensemble, International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Ensemble Dal Niente, and Ensemble21. Baker earned a BM from the Eastman School of Music, a MM from Rice University, and a DM in Composition from Northwestern University.Microfluctuations on Plainchant - Daniel WohlParis born composer Daniel Wohl draws on his background in electronic music to create works that intimately merge electronic and acoustic elements. The New York Times reviewed his music as "imaginative and skillful." He holds degrees from Yale University, the University of Michigan School of Music, and Bard College. |
