Laberinto III - David Soley

Laberinto III by Panamanian composer David Soley (b.1962) considers the effect of time, grace notes placed in front of or after notes are played as fast as possible giving the impression of a temporal shift. The piece in five continuous sections contrasts fast brutal ideas with more poetic ones.

Lied - Luciano Berio

Berio (1925-2003) originally composed Lied for solo clarinet in 1983. It's title surely refers to the nineteenth century tradition of German arts song, Berio seems to suggest that Lied searches for a language where there are no words, occupying a place somewhere between poetry and music.

Jungle - Christian Lauba

Jungle, composed by Tunisian born french composer Christian Lauba (b.1952) is the fourth in a series of nine etudes for solo saxophone, each etude explores a specific contemporary technique. Jungle explores the technique of rapid slap tonguing combined with legato phrasing.
