Untitled - Nicolas JortieThe project of a work for four baritone saxophones was borned during the first collaboration between Osmose Quartet and the composer. Nicolas Jortie was interested by the harmonic specificity of the instrument. The language of work will turned around spatialised architecture and twinning.Canonic Suite - Elliot Carteri. Deciso
ii. Allegro con moto
iii. Tarantella
The Canonic Suite likewise is the product of Carter's interaction with his latter Parisian instructor, Nadia Boulanger. Carter assembled a series of counterpoint exercises into a work written for the unusual instrumental ensemble of four alto saxophones. Nébuleuses - Lionel BordNébuleuses employs only one member of the traditional saxophone quartet and just one musical idea: an ostinato oscillation, an obsessive quarter tone, which is worked on to the point of exhaustion. This work was written for habanera quartet and was created in 2005. |
