Raum-Musik für Saxophone (Video non authorized)
from Germany and the Netherlands 'Raum-Musik fŸr Saxophone' (short RMfS) means spatial music for saxophones; the group consists of nine saxophone players. Established 1985, members of the band live in Germany (Karlsruhe, Munich, Cologne) and the Netherlands (Nijmegen). For every concert the group prepares for the specific venue a unique concept based on free improvisation where the venue, the concert space, is regarded as an active player itself. The group played for example in a water reservoir in Cologne, where the delay, reverb was approx. 50 seconds. The group features several saxophones, from bass to sopranino. "Raum-Musik fŸr Saxophone transcends the language of an instrument that is already extraordinarily eloquent and fluent." Bert Noglik |
St. Andrews - Raum-Musik für SaxophoneRMfS will prepare a unique performance in ST. Andrews based on improvisation an the special characteristics of the given venue with a variety of different saxophones. |
