Stacy Wilson has won top prizes in many national and international competitions. In 2009, she became the first American Saxophonist to win one of the top prizes as a saxophone/piano duo in the Gaudeamus International Interpreters Competition in Amsterdam. Stacy won 1st Prizes in the William Byrd International Competition, the MTNA Young Artist Collegiate Competition, Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition, GMTA Competition and was the winner of the Indiana University and the University of North Carolina Greensboro Concerto Competitions. Additionally, she received 3rd Prize in the North American Saxophone Alliance Classical Competition in 2004 and was selected as a semi-finalist in the Jean-Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition in 2008. Stacy has recently performed at Japan's Izumi Concert Hall, Juilliard, Eastman, and Eisenhower Hall in New York as a featured soloist with the West Point Concert Band. Additionally, she has performed with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Stacy is the soprano saxophonist with the Zzyzx Quartet based out of New York and Washington D.C. Featured in the Saxophone Journal as an up-and-coming young saxophone quartet, ZQ was described as "a superb ensemble with impeccable musical taste". They won 2nd Prize in the inaugural NASA Quartet Competition in 2008 and were selected as semi-finalists in the OSAKA International Chamber Music Competition. Currently, Stacy is a saxophonist with the West Point Concert Band in New York. She received the M.M. in Saxophone Performance from Indiana University in 2005 as a recipient of the prestigious Performer's Certificate and is currently completing requirements for the D.M. Degree also from IU. Her primary teachers include Steve Stusek and Otis Murphy.
