Three Reeds Duo

Three Reeds Duo is a chamber ensemble featuring Leah Forsyth (oboe) and Paul Forsyth (saxophone), both professors at Northwestern State University in Louisiana, USA. The Three Reeds Duo has been in existence since 2005 and has been building a repertoire ranging from Baroque and Classical transcriptions to contemporary concert literature. In 2011, the Three Reeds Duo was the winner of the Donald Derby Professorship at Northwestern State University. Through this grant, Three Reeds has commissioned four new works for oboe/sax duo by Gregory Wanamaker, Marcus Maroney, Kyle Blaha, and Richard Rose. In 2012, Three Reeds will be performing these works at numerous conferences and universities around the world. Two of these new compositions are being performed at the World Saxophone Congress XVI in Scotland.

Double Cadenza - Gregory Wanamaker

Double Cadenza is one of four commissions by the Three Reeds Duo in 2011. These commissions were made possible by the Donald Derby Professorship at Northwestern State University. The four commissioned composers are Kyle Blaha, Marcus Maroney, Richard Rose, and Gregory Wanamaker.

Signals Cross - : Kyle Blaha

Signals Cross is one of four commissions by the Three Reeds Duo in 2011. These commissions were made possible by the Donald Derby Professorship at Northwestern State University. The four commissioned composers are Kyle Blaha, Marcus Maroney, Richard Rose, and Gregory Wanamaker.
