Absolution Saxophone Quartet (Video non authorized)

Award winning ensemble, Absolution Saxophone Quartet was formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2006. In September 2011 the group returned to the RNCM as the first chamber group to have been awarded a full scholarship to study on the Postgraduate International Artists Diploma course.

Absolution were selected to perform as part of the Park Lane Group Young Artists Platform and appeared at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in January 2011. The group are also winners of the Trevor Wye Memorial Prize (2009 and 2010) as well as the RNCM Chamber Music Prize. Absolution were finalists of the 2010 Royal Overseas League competition and were chosen by the 'Making Music' Concert Promoters Network as selected artists for 2012-13. The group regularly work in schools and care homes across the UK in association with 'Live Music Now!' and Music in Hospitals.

As winners of the RNCM Concerto Competition, Absolution performed 'Concerto for Saxophones' by Tristan Keuris in May 2011, a work which hadn't been performed in the UK for over 20 years. Absolution gave their debut performance at the Bridgewater Hall in November 2011 after being selected by the Manchester Mid-Day Concerts Society.
