All four members; Dan Graser (soprano), Zach Stern (alto), Joseph Girard (tenor), and Danny Hawthorne-Foss (baritone), are current students of Professor Donald Sinta. The DSQ was a featured soloist during the Michigan Symphony Band's 2011 tour of China and Los Angeles and performed in many celebrated halls including the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Walt Disney Concert hall in Los Angeles, and Hill Auditorium in Michigan. The group premiered the band version of William Bolcom's, Concerto Grosso, and will be featured on the premiere recording of the work with the Michigan Symphony Band under the baton of Michael Haithcock, available December 2011. Additionally, the group performed at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Hanban Headquarters in Beijing, and for the students of the Youth Orchestras of Los Angeles. Embracing a wide range of repertoire, the DSQ regularly performs the works of Dvorak and Schubert in addition to recent commissions from Brett Bohman and Ron Amchin. In addition to performing at the World Saxophone Congress, the DSQ were recently invited to perform at the 2012 ISME Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece.
