Håvard Salvesen Njølstad (16) has played the saxophone for nine years. His main teacher has been Siri Øverland. He has won the 1st Prize and played at the Prize Winners' concert in the national competition 'Music Competition for Youth' six times. He has performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra on three different occasions and performed as invited musician many times both in and outside of Norway. He has won several grants, and he has also won the EMCY Price - European Union of Music Competitions for Youth in 2011. He plays both classical music and jazz. He studies at the Grieg Academy's Young Talents and Barratt Due Music Institute - Young Talent Program.
