At the age of 13, Jonathan Radford entered Chetham's School of Music where he continued his academic education alongside his musical studies, and aged 17 he became a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction in saxophone music performance. He is currently studying the classical saxophone repertoire in France at the Conservatoire de Versailles, (Paris) under Professor Vincent David.
Jonathan has performed and competed successfully throughout Europe supported by The Musicians' Benevolent Fund, EMI Sound Foundation, Awards for Young Musicians, Graucob Music and he has also been in receipt of an Education Bursary from BBC Performing Arts Fund. He has performed at venues throughout France as a soloist and ensemble member with the Versailles Conservatoire.
He is a passionate promoter of the saxophones classical repertoire and aspires to help raise the public perception of the saxophone as a classical instrument.
