Karen Dufour & Scott Mitchell (Video non authorized)
 from Scotland Karen Dufour graduated from the RSAMD in 2006 with Masters in Musical Performance studying saxophone with Josef Pacewicz. Karen is soprano saxophonist with the saxophone quartet Sax Ecosse. Recipients of the Enterprise Music Scotland Residency project 2008 and alumni of the prestigious Live Music Now! Scheme they give recitals and workshops around the UK. Highlights include performing with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, entertaining dignitaries including Prince Edward, Cherie Blair and Bill Clinton and performing in St Olav's Festival, Norway. Karen would like to thank Creative Scotland for the current scholarship allowing to her take lessons with Christina Rall. Scottish pianist Scott Mitchell has performed extensively as a chamber music pianist and accompanist throughout Great Britain, Europe, South America and the Middle East. Performing regularly at St John's Smith Square, Purcell Room and the Wigmore Hall, London he has also appeared at many of the world's major festivals including Edinburgh and the Festival Wiener Klassik. Scott Mitchell has released CD's for Chandos Records, ASV, Collins Classics, Black Box and Tosca Records and recently recorded Dave Heath's Piano Concerto with the BBC Concert Orchestra, shortly to be released on the Black Box label. He is a regular performer on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and has appeared on Channel 4 and the satellite Arts Channel. Scott Mitchell is a staff accompanist and chamber music coach at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. |

Sharing a passion for contemporary music and the promotion of Scottish musicians and composers this friendship and collaboration has developed. This new work by John Gormley displays his strengths of melodic fluency and sonorous harmonies. |
