The Missouri Saxophone Quartet was formed in 2009 and is devoted to exploring and promoting new music, especially that of Missouri composers. The group has inspired several commissions and has presented them at venues such as the North American Saxophone Alliance's Biennial Conference, the United States Navy Band's International Saxophone Symposium, and the Odyssey Chamber Music Series of Columbia, Missouri. The quartet's performance at the World Saxophone Congress marks the group's international debut. Leo Saguiguit is Assistant Professor of Saxophone at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Adrianne Honnold teaches at Washington University in St. Louis, University of Missouri-St. Louis, and St. Louis Community College. Joel Vanderheyden is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Jazz at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri. Matt Kendrick is a freelance musician, private instructor, and Certified Public Accountant in Kansas City, Missouri.

Primal - Aaron Perrine

With works in a variety of genres, Aaron Perrine's music has been performed across the United States and abroad. This past December, one of his compositions received an "honorable mention" in the 2011 CBDNA Young Band Composition Contest. Bridge Suite, a recently composed duet for alto saxophone and cello, was performed by Joel Vanderheyden and Catherine Lehr-Ramos at the 2012 NASA Biennial Conference. Perrine is currently a Ph.D. candidate in composition at The University of Iowa.

Rocket To Venus - Stefan Freund

Stefan Freund is Associate Professor of composition at the University of Missouri. His previous work for saxophone, Screams and Grooves (2005) written for Leo Saguiguit, earned him the MTNA Distinguished Composer of the Year Award. Freund has earned numerous awards from BMI and ASCAP and is cellist for Alarm Will Sound.
